"OSBHCA: Growing collaboration between schools and communities to provide better access to health care for Ohio's children."
The Ohio School Based Health Care Association (OSBHCA) is an organization committed to improving the health and well-being of Ohio’s children and adolescents within the context of their families through promotion of locally-tailored school based health care. Specifically we:
Support SBHCs through education, advocacy, networking and technical assistance
Work to develop long term strategies to promote the financial stability of school based health care
Participate in the development and maintenance of local, state and federal standards for service delivery to youth and families
OSBHCA Face-to-Face Board of Directors Meetings will be:
OSBHCA Fundraising Meeting, Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati Offices in Cincinnati October 28-29,2008
In conjunction with the OSBHCA Fall Meeting, Friday November 14th, 5:00 p.m., Columbus Athletic Club
last Thursday the Partnership to Fight Chronic Disease and Emory University co-hosted Fighting Chronic Disease: The Missing Link in Health Reform. On Monday, we will send around an email with highlights and Web postings from that event. At the event the document, “Keeping America Healthy: A Catalog of Successful Programs,” (a.k.a. "Promising Practices") was officially released. This first-of-its-kind document provides an answer to the question that many of us have been hearing throughout our time in the PFCD – what can we do to make a difference?
Nearly 150 programs are featured in the document as either, Programs that Work, Programs to Watch, or Programs with Promise. In addition to the extensive, hard-copy document, a Web site has been launched on which you can search the database of programs and submit additional programs to be considered for inclusion on the site.
